I've bought 2 other dispenser-type blenders: Back to Basics SHP1000 Smoothie Professional Smoothie Maker and Hamilton Beach 53257 Wavestation Plus Dispensing Blender with 48-Ounce Jar, Black and Silver. Using them almost daily to make my Stevia-sweetened, blended espresso, milk, vanilla "Frappacinos," each lasted less than 1 year and started leaking into the base and smoking before it ended up in the dumpster. Not wanting to buy the same blenders I'd tried before, I decided on the Aroma. It's surprisingly different and effective. There is no rubber seal in the base, but easily fits onto the base and does not leak. The lid, which does have a seal, needed me reading the instructions to figure out how to put it on, but once I did it, it's simple and seals well. I didn't think I'd use the "timer program," but I can push that button, and walk away from the blender. It cycles through turning off and on for a minute, allowing the ice cubes to crush without over-heating the machine. The dispenser clearly turns off or on, twisting the knob clockwise or counterclockwise. The only complaint I have about the machine is that the dispenser does not fully drain the container; but I just pour out any remaining beverage into a glass. I haven't had this a year yet, and don't know what its longevity will be, but I'm pleased with its performance so far. If you're looking for a smoothie-maker or beverage blender, I recommend the Aroma.

As with many items on amazon, way cheaper than buying in a store. That said, the only disappointing thing is the "slow start" could be a little slower. I use it daily for protein shakes and hoped for absolutley no splash up out of the pitcher when the lid is off. It does a little. Very nice blender though. Would highly recomend it.

The big drawback to this blender is that the carafe is wider than the blade, thus adding to the blender cavitation or 'bubble' problem. Any amount of semi-liquid or solid food gets tossed up onto the sides of the container, to be stuck there helplessly until you open the container and push food back down into the blades to try to get an even chop all around. I experienced this with any amount of low to medium liquid amount, chopped, mixed, etc. foods that I tried. They could fix, or at least help, this prob

Very nice blender: plenty of power, blends very well, easy operation and easy to clean.

It's better than the old $25 Sunbeam blender I had, but not by much. Despite all the chrome in the picture, many of the important parts are actually made of plastic, and the machine feels a little cheap. It also doesn't do a great job crushing ice when making Daiquiris, there's a lot of spoon action needed to get the slush to the top and the uncrushed cubes to the bottom. It's also quite loud.

I purchased this blender - after reading reviews of the breaking drive mechanism, etc. I make a lot of fruit smoothies (frozen fruit, juice + other ingrediences). Knife/axle separated after 2 months of use. This is not a solid blender - probably good for very light duty. The drive mechanism, although looks like 'all metal' is really held together by a rubber fitting. NOT RECOMMENDED.

This blender is just what I was looking for. It totally crushes ice and makes perfect smoothies. The price is right, it is easy to clean and gets the job done. I did all the research and read all the reviews and I am very satisfied that I made the right choice.

The power is great, definitely blends as needed quite well! It is really loud though!!!!! I have a wheat grinder, and I thought that was loud, but I like to leave the room when this blender is running because it hurts my ears.
Also, the plastic part that screws on the bottom, and holds the blade in, broke on ours after only 6 weeks. On a positive note, Oster is sending us a replacement for free. So, good customer service.
If I had it to do over, I would look for a blender tha

Good blender, like all blenders on this side of 100 bucks it has trouble with 1)small amounts and 2) things that aren't super liquidy.

This blender works pretty well. I find that I can not really tell a difference between many of the speeds in terms of how effective they are (it seems rather unnecessary to have so many).
My complaints are:
1) While it comes apart to clean, the assembly has to be put back together exactly straight and even or else it will leak. I make smoothies and leave them in the fridge over night, and if I haven't put it on straight enough/snug enough, it leaks.
2) This thing is LOUD... LOUD LO

Very disappointed with this blender. It has a hard time with frozen strawberries! It is very difficult to seat onto the motor shaft without making such a loud noise that I think it will break. It took me 15 minutes this morning to make a simple shake. I purchased this in 2009 and have been putting up with it ever since. It is no better than the $30 blenders I have purchased in the past. Still won't pay much more for a blender than I did on this one. Maybe another name brand will be next.

I was considering buying a BlendTec but wanted a more economical choice that could handle whole foods. I am extremely pleased with this product so far, and glad I researched and bought this powerful, easy, affordable blender.
I've had this blender for about a half a week and have made:
-Frozen drinks with ice (crushed ice cubes with blender for pina coladas, added whole pineapple and mango, yogurt, and coconut milk)
-Fruit/Veggie smoothie blends, including things lik

I have the old KSB5, which used to come with a glass carafe. It is pretty good, with a few faults. When I saw this polycarbonate carafe had replaced the original glass one, I scooped up a few of the old style KSBR5's to give as wedding presents for nieces and nephews. Why use a plastic carafe when plastic has so many health issues? - well, except that it is cheaper to manufacture, obviously. Smoothies are one thing, but we actually use ours for curries, and even for grinding idli batter: This is made b

I spent A LOT of time researching blenders before choosing this one. I ignored the complaints about the pitcher leaking, believing other reviews about the problem being fixed. WRONG! After one month of daily use the pitcher began to leak where the screw, holding the blade on was. I liked the blender's performance, so exchanged the "defective" one. Three months later I had the same exact problem. Do not waste your time or money on this blender!

I had high expectations when I purchased a blender in this price range, this blender is better than I had expected. It is heavy and sturdy. Easy to clean. Absolutely no leaks. More powerful than I needed. Easily beats out every other blender I have ever used or owned.
I LOVE that it does not have 10, 20, or 50 speed settings like other blenders. Now that I dont have them, I realize I dont need them, HI and LOW is PERFECT.

I purchased this item because this firm has replacement parts in the event a component should break as it inevitably does with Oster and especially GE. I have used it a few times and it seems to strain and lack power when the container is quite full although it seems to get the job done. There is a smell however that is similar to heated plastic so I am not sure I will keep it. I have been trying to find Braun appliances which were absolutely unkillable and simply the BEST but they are no longer availa

Read the negative comments about this blender carefully, because they are all true, to some degree. This blender mixes thick liquids and soft foods readily and quite quickly, but fails miserably at blending almost anything frozen. And the motor does smell as if it is about to burn out when it has the least trouble blending ingredients, which occurs frequently. I have the Oster 4096 blender also, and at almost 40% less in price, the Oster outshines this Waring by a mile. Waring should be ashamed of this p

Cuisinart BFP-10CH PowerBlend Duet Blender - I got it a few months ago and use it few times a week for breakfast fruit blended drinks, however, I find the spout being in the middle of the glass container always makes a mess pouring out the drink..... even if I pour from a corner, still messy.
I would like to see the next blender with a well-thought-out pouring spout from the glass jar. I also experience the weird "smell" that others talk about, as if it is going to burn out.... Wished somebody would

I have had the blender for less than a year, and it no longer works. The blades spin when the pitcher is not sitting on it, but once you attach the pitcher, it barely spins. The unit also smells "hot." I expected to get at least ten years from a Cuisinart. I would not recommend buying this product.

We really enjoy this blender but our first one died after about 4 years. We only got the same one again because one time we broke the glass part and this way we have a spare glass part in case that happens again.
We love it but it's not super long lasting. Again 4 years and then it was done. So as long as you know that then you're fine.

I just started making smoothies for the kids in the morning. It's been about two, maybe 3 months. I've had to order parts on two separate occasions already. The first time it cost $20, this time $10 and I can see that the wheel that makes the thing spin is cracked so I'll be replacing that soon. It's not that much money but the darned thing only costs $60 and you have all this wait time until the parts ship to your house. It's been a pain. With a name like Cuisinart, you expect it to be good. Maybe I
