Who needs a traditional blender? Impossible to be more convenient than this product... Kudos to Cuisinart!

IT seems a little fragile when you use it under pressure; mixing thick things. The blending shaft comes off and can be cleaned in the dishwasher which is nice. that is very convenient and safer because less risk of a wet electrical appliance being plugged int.-- no more trying to avoid getting water in the motor or cutting up my fingers during hand washing. I just hope that the Cuisinart is as durable as the Braun. I bought this to replace a old hand blender which died after nearly 2 years of using it.. Th

Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand blender | Wednesday, October 27, 2010
My mother in law almost lost her index finger when she was trying to disconnect the handle from the metal stick , she erroneously pushed the start button and her index finger was cut by small pieces. It took a while in hospital to put it back. So be extra careful.

Absolutely no clean up issue & from soup to hummus to smoothies & nuts, there is no better functional tool than the KitchenAid Hand Blender. Only sorry did not include whisk & chopper with order....if only I had known how good it is! Price more than right for product.

The coupler in the motor for the mixer shaft doesn't last too long. It would be nice if this one weak part could be easily replaced, instead of having to buy a new motor/set. This part is available on the table top mixers.

I have had this blender for about 2 years and I only use it occasionally to blend soups or shakes. It worked great for a while. The entire machine is well made and the motor is strong - except for a small plastic piece that sits above the blade. When this plastic thing loosens, then food gets stuck behind it and the blender no longer chops. It is impossible to reinsert it so that it does not come loose again. And there are no replacement parts available, so you just have to buy a whole new blender.

The new Cuisinart hand blender I purchased replaced an old Braun that I had for many years. The Cuisinart does everything the old Braun did plus more, so as long as it lasts as long as my old one, I couldn't be happier.

I have used this product primarily to make sauces and soups, and overall the immersion stick/wand has done a great job. It makes soups airy and creamy, though the contents has to be chopped fairly fine for it to work. The wand and tapered motor unit have a good-looking stainless steel surface, and is easy to clean and store. The reason for the not-so-great review is it's intrinsically faulty design. I have unfortunately found that when using the nut chopper/mini food processor attachment that it has to be a

I could not find my receipt so the three year guarantee did not work for me. The chopper went first, then the hand blender. The whisk still works, but that is not enough for me. I might keep the whisk and go with a simpler less expensive hand blender. Don't let the stainless steel fool you. It is just for show. All the connecting parts are plastic and wear away fast if you use this for anything substantial.
I had my braun for ever - 10 - 15 years or more? It was great.
