The new Cuisinart hand blender I purchased replaced an old Braun that I had for many years. The Cuisinart does everything the old Braun did plus more, so as long as it lasts as long as my old one, I couldn't be happier.

I could not find my receipt so the three year guarantee did not work for me. The chopper went first, then the hand blender. The whisk still works, but that is not enough for me. I might keep the whisk and go with a simpler less expensive hand blender. Don't let the stainless steel fool you. It is just for show. All the connecting parts are plastic and wear away fast if you use this for anything substantial.

I had my braun for ever - 10 - 15 years or more? It was great.

I have used this product primarily to make sauces and soups, and overall the immersion stick/wand has done a great job. It makes soups airy and creamy, though the contents has to be chopped fairly fine for it to work. The wand and tapered motor unit have a good-looking stainless steel surface, and is easy to clean and store. The reason for the not-so-great review is it's intrinsically faulty design. I have unfortunately found that when using the nut chopper/mini food processor attachment that it has to be a

My Cuisinart CSB-77 Hand Blender is absolutely wonderful. I am able to "whip" it out of my drawer and used it very quickly and efficiently. The cleanup is so easy and takes so little time, it's unbelievable. I use it a lot for mixing smoothies right in the glass and could not be more satisfied. Also, ordering through Amazon is such a convenience. Every time I need something, I always check on Amazon first thing. I have never been disappointed.

I bought this to replace my still-working but large, counter-hogging blender. But this amazing gadget does so much more than just make delicious smoothies in a fraction of the time (not to mention a fraction of the clean-up) of my old monster. Within the first couple of days I used it to whisk cream - so fast you wouldn't believe, chop vegetables and herbs, cream/blend soups and of course make lovely frothy smoothies from frozen fruit. Not only did it exceed my expectations in terms of power and versatility

I purchased this particular stick blender about 4 years ago to help me with my soap making. At the time, i didnt think id ever use the attachments that it came with, as i really only needed the stick blender to help me get my soap to a "trace" faster than hand whisking. I make approximately twenty, 15 lb batches of soap per week, PLUS found use for the attachments to chop up other ingredients such as fresh lemons ( peel and all ) and other things that go into my soaps. i use the crap outta this thing!

Cuisinart CSB-77 Smart Stick Hand Blender with Whisk and Chopper Attachments
Although bought two years ago, this blender had very little use and only for blending soup. It was used for about 4 months when bought, then put away. Upon using it now, the teeth are completely stripped. A product that has such high speed should not be using plastic teeth to join the attachments. Do not buy this product.

I bought this product at Costco yesterday. I tried it out last night. The motor unit attaches to the wand (the wand is the part with the mixing propeller.) The wand kept falling off. So did the whisk unit when I tried that feature. If you hold the motor unit with one hand, and hold the propeller unit with the other hand, and keep them pushed together, then the mixing wand works quite well. But it shouldn't require a two-handed operation. When will I learn to check the Amazon reviews BEFORE I buy any product

I read reviews complaining that the plastic "teeth" to this blender wears down, rendering the whole thing useless. Well, even with the caveat, I purchased the item and sure enough -- few months later, the teeth wore down and I had to trash the blender and the chopper attachment. I wasn't happy with the blender even before -- it doesn't blend food at the bottom of the cup and the chopper attachment doesn't properly "grip" and chop the food -- but the plastic teeth thing is really ridiculous. In the product information section it's not mentioned that the mixer has only one speed. You can't start slow; therefore, have an extra large mixing bowl available. Depending on what what you're mixing, it's difficult to start at a higher speed, and it can get messy. The traditional "low" and "high" speeds have worked fine in the past, but the manufacturer decided to limit this option.

The splines connecting the motor to the attachment stripped, there is insufficient engagement between splines of attachments to the motor. I returned it and got another one. I like the things it does, and it does them well. Whisking up a salad dressing has never been more effective. However, I dropped it once and the housing that holds the whisk broke... it is plastic with minimal reinforcement. I didn't even try the warranty option because it was cheaper to simply buy the part. Part cost $3.50, shipping cost $10.
I will use this product regularly and would not want to be without it. I just have to remember it is fragile, not the rugged appliance I wish it was.

We had this blender for over a year before the teeth stripped and it stopped working. We used it daily for a time making smoothies (no ice--it doesn't do ice). One I got the hang of it the whisk was great for beating up eggs; it didn't really beat them to a fluff, but it was enough for most of my recipes. I splattered the kitchen with eggs several times before I got the hang of it. I even made hummus in the food processor, albeit in small batches. I think when I buy another immersion blender I will find one with a better track record and maybe without changeable heads--really smoothies and soups are all I need.

This is an amazing kitchen gadget, and if I could only have one this would be it. I'm living in a super-small kitchen right now so I don't have some of the normal equipment, but I have found, more often than not, that this can do the trick. It of course takes care of puree soups, but I also use it to cream the butter and sugar for cookies, make sauces, or homemade applesauce. The chopper attachment is great for breadcrumbs or just any small scale food processing. The motor is pretty powerful. It can take care of anything you put it up against.

This is truly a wonderful hand blender. I use it several times a week, for smoothies, salad dressing, creamed soups, yogurt and fruit mix for popsicles, sandwich spreads, and the list goes on.
My stick bound up too. The motor was straining and blades would not turn. I immediately stopped running it to prevent motor damage. I went to the Internet where I found that many people have had the same problem.
I didn't want to give up on this marvelous kitchen tool. So I determined that perhaps putting the blender wand in the dishwasher (the top section) was not the thing to do.
I poured about a half of a cup of canola oil in a narrow container (a coffee cup) and placed the wand blade side down in it. I let it sit like this for about 4 hours. I then turned the wand upside down and put the junction end in the oil for a couple of hours. This worked. The wand is back in action. Now after using it, I fill the 2-cup plastic beaker that came with it with 1-cup of warm, soapy water, and blend the water for a few seconds. I then rinse the blade end off with hot water and it's perfectly clean. Don't wash the junction end.
DO NOT put the stainless-steel blending shaft in the dishwasher. Cuisinart says that it is dishwasher-safe. I don't believe that it is. I hope that mine lasts forever!

I bought this blender yesterday, brought it home, unpacked it, read the manual and then sat down and read the reviews here on Amazon. Although the
majority of reviews were positive the negative ones caused me a great deal of concern so I took it back today. I will never know if I would have had
the positive results of some reviewers who sang its praises because I wasn't willing to waste money on a product that might break in a few months or a
year. So, this is to ask future reviewers who are dissatisfied with the product to be careful in what you say and be sure that your complaints are
truly due to the Cuisinart CSB-77 Smart Stick Blender being defective and not to user neglect or error. Not only did I return this product but I no
longer have a desire to purchase any immersion blender and will continue to happily chop, blend and puree the old fashioned way.

This is just about the BEST baby shower gift I received. Yes, you heard right...baby shower gift. I'm trying to do the "make your own baby food" thing so that way it's less expensive and I know exactly what is going into it. I decided to try and use this for mixing his formula while I waited for the true pureed foods to start being used.

Moms are aware that many times, making the fomula in a 20 oz shaker can take several minutes of vigorous shaking to get it blended perfectly. I tried this hand mixer and OH MY WOW! It literally mixed the formula with the added rice cereal in less than 20 seconds (my son has acid reflux and the rice cereal helps to keep the formula down). Perfectly blended almost instantly and zero mess!

I'm not talking 20 oz, I'm talking 40 oz. Enough for 6 - 6 oz bottles with a little extra left over. More than enough to get my son through all of his feedings for the 24 hour day. We refrigerate the rest and it is such a time saver! My husband even uses it to mix the formula when he does it. (He's also used it for making perfect chocolate milkshakes. LOL!) I can not wait to puree solid food with it! It's durable, fast and easy!!! I love it!

I had only used this immersion blender infrequently, for soups mostly, and with the chopper attachment to produce vinaigrettes (chop the shallot first, then add the rest to it and give it a whirl), and sometimes to chop nuts. The chopper attachment was the first to go - blade would just not whirl, and then sometimes with the nuts one of them would just get stuck against the bowl, wedged by the blade. Shortly thereafter, no blade movement at all. Then the actual blender attachment had the same issue. I would hear the motor running, whirring away, but the blender attachment sounded like there was some major mechanical problem - like metal was rubbing on metal the wrong way. I am so angry about this purchase (did not get it with Amazon, and promptly lost my receipt post-purchase). So I am throwing it away, and am going to get a Kitchenaid. I doubt I'll get anything with the Cuisinart name on it again (already have the food processor - no problems there yet).

I use it everyday which I never though I would! For me its worth every cent! My mil & mom who were visiting from India found this very indispensable too!

I mainly bought it to enable me to mash Indian curries (dal/spinach/brinjal etc)& soups when they are hot and in the same dish. Does the job perfectly! I am able to finish my daily cooking much quicker as I do not have to wait to cool the dish before mashing like I used to before pouring it into the mixer. and also no hassle of having 2 dirty dishes!

Best tool to make baby food - Just use the immersion blender in pressure cooked fruits/rice/dal/veggies and am done - all in 1 dish!

I use this to finely grate raw mango (for mango rice), minced garlic/ginger (No coconut!)
I grind nuts coarsely
Milk shakes in a jiffy!!
Fruit Smoothies in a jiffy!
Soups, soups & soups!
Pesto
Hummus

I have never found myself using the whisk attachment though and I think its too flimsy to make batters. Whisking eggs should be okay!

The manual clearly specifies that you cannot run it more than 90 seconds at a time, so people who had a bad experience after using it couple times might want to check the usage.

This apparently fancy blender has given to me and my wife the most horrible experience. It broke down for the first time just after the 30-day limit to give it back to the store. The problem is that the junction between the engine and the accessories is made of plastic and melts down after some usage. We then contacted Cuisinart customer service and asked for a substitute. We were charged 17 bucks to have our request handled and the new blender shipped. But, guess what? The new blender came to our place already broken!! Again, it was the plastic junction, which was destroyed before our first usage!!! I was a little bit pissed off by this, and I contacted again Cuisinart customer service. This time, we had the blender replaced for free. Our third blender was the most successful one, and lasted 3 months, before dying again because of problems to the plastic junction. I then gave up losing my time (and my money) in contacting the customer service, and went straight to buy a low cost blender (10 bucks) which is up and running till then.
Even though Cuisinart customer service dealt with my complaints efficiently, I think I will never buy Cuisinart products again.

I bought this hand blender because I have had other Cuisinart products that have lasted. This unfortunately made it to only use number 2. It did a great job on blending soups but the plastic interior is really poorly made and began to strip quickly. The Chopper attachment went first and stopped working after one use of chopping nuts. The hand mixer went next and ended up in the waste bin. Really poorly made product Cuisinart. Thought I could trust you all to make a good product......not again.
